Our Dual Purpose Detection / Patrol Dogs at Von Jäger K9 are rigorously tested before purchase and maintain rigorous detection training as our Drug Dogs and Bomb Dogs, however, the Dual Purpose Dogs also have advanced apprehension training. We have 14 years of experience handling and training dual-purpose an multi-purpose canines. From multipurpose canine deployments with a United States Special Operations Unit (1st Ranger Battalion) to Single purpose narcotics canine utilization for an undercover Street Narcotics Unit (Organized Crime Division of the Austin Police Department) to Dual Purpose Canine use in rural Northeast Oklahoma (Grove Police Department), we have gained the real world experience needed to provide quality canines for any Law Enforcement Department or Private Security Entity.
Von Jäger K9 Dual Purpose Police Dogs are trained with both on and off leash obedience and are trained in handler protection from physical threat, an attack command, verbal release, and firearms neutralization.

Drug Dogs from Von Jäger K9 are trained to locate and alert to their specifically imprinted target odors. With ten years of Law Enforcement experience, we understand that precision is paramount to any investigation, and often times the canine utilized can quickly become what determines the outcome of the case. Our dogs are imprinted on true narcotics not pseudo-odors. Donovan Hunter is currently a Reserve Officer for the Grove Police Department and is licensed through the DEA and OBNDD to handle true narcotics training aids for law enforcement training.
Narcotics and illicit drugs used during the detection training process include:
- Heroin
- Cocaine
- Marijuana (as requested)
- Methamphetamine
- MDMA (Ecstacy)
DRUG DOG ALERT RESPONSE
At Von Jäger K9, we train our narcotics detection canines to alert in a passive response (sit and stare) but will oblige your specific departments internal policies if you request an alternate final alert.
Bomb Dogs from Von Jäger K9 are also trained to passively alert to their requested target odors:

▪ TNT (Trinitrotoluene)
▪ AN (Ammonium nitrate)
▪ Smokeless Powder (Trinitroglycerin + Nitrocellulose)
▪ Detonating Cord (Pentaerythritol tetranitrate)
▪ Semtex (Pentaerythritol tetranitrate +Trinitro-triazacyclohexane + plasticizers) ▪ RDX (Trinitro-triazacyclohexane)
Additional odors may be added or excluded upon request
BOMB DOG ALERT RESPONSE
We employ a release marker response to the indicated odor. Von Jäger K9 is currently in application phase with the ATF to train with live explosive training aids.
